June 29th, 2010 marked a 20 year point for the Redmond Rousers Rotary club. Just an infant in the Rotary world. But significant all the same.
Since the organization began in 1905, ROTARY has become the biggest and the oldest SERVICE club in the world. Seattle #4 is the 4th club, and the largest at this time with about 750 members. Being a Rouser has it's fair share of notariety. And as you can tell, just by the name...we get tagged the "Rebel Rousers", "Rowdy Rousers"...and so on....but, we like it. That's part of what sets us apart from the pack....being a little different...and rowdy in a good way.We are noticed at meetings, or while having FUN whooping it up. We also like cheering the loudest; that is how we celebrate each other, our differences and our community. We LIKE being a little different, a little disruptive...NO boring here, not much white hair either.... in this club. So that's why we say, "this is not your Grandpas Rotary Club".....
We do not require ties, or suits.....it is by choice we are different. So, dress down, wear some flip/flops, have fun, relax, come on over...pull up a chair, we have a place for you.... Dinner is approx $10-$15.00 per person...at IXTAPA, 17725 - N.E .Marketplace Dr. on Redmond Ridge. Pay your server for what you order and TUESDAYS are taco night....!!!!! Viva ROTARY!!!!
We've turned a new leaf at the tender age of 22. We are looking at making our club more culturally diverse, younger, hip, socially concious, with NEW club members and projects to move into the next decade. We are in our TWEENS, and 2011, 2012, 2013...will be defining years in this club. We need all members and people who are willing to put SERVICE ABOVE SELF...on the line, click here to see "a life building hope -story, and being a part of this global movement...called ROTARY.
Global oneness...is an AWESOME responsibility. We take it seriously at the Redmond rousers Rotary Club. We give back to our community. We live in a very beautiful place and in a time we can be pro-active about the earth. We look for opportunities in other global communities to try to help and make a difference. So, come help us, to MAKE A DIFFERENCE in this place called Redmond, Washington. We recently started the Coup de Cascades, a big Cycling fundraiser to help END POLIO. Our mission is awareness and eradication. We are "this close" to ending Polio...please click on the links here to find out more information.
Our local motto is .."WE MAKE A DIFFERENCE". Our local and global concerns are many....but at the end of every day....... it is always about :
