CLUB PRESIDENT - Kelly Kyle, President 2010-2012

I have been a Rotarian for 12 years now. I absolutely LOVE Rotary and the projects we do in our club. My first Club was Snoqualmie Valley, for 3 years. Then I moved to Redmond, joined the Rousers, and then a couple years later left to help the Sammamish Club charter. As a new member there for their first year, I was able to help get them established, then went back to the Redmond Rousers Rotary Club. The Rousers were a 7am breakfast club, untill 2008, when the 8 members at that time decided to become a Tuesday night dinner club. We bounced around looking for a good place to land....and then found FAIRWINDS. It has been a great place for us to watch our group grow, to 20 members now.

I am an Artist. My medium is acrylic, when I paint. I also do flower arranging, and make quilts. I was also a photographer for 26 years and owned my own studio. A few years ago, I picked up a paint brush and have never looked back. One of the things I love to paint are killer whales, flowers, mountains & pretty images of places. If you need an artists rendering of a killer whale, I could be your personal artist. Clients hire me to fill space at home or in the office.
I belong to many different ART groups that give me diversity. I give quilts to people in need, paint to give hope, and arrange flowers to make people smile. So my passion is ART in a variety of forms, people buy it because they love it. I love the hands on work I do. I find it very rewarding to be able to create something beautiful for others.

Maybe that's one of the reasons I love Rotary so much.  It allows me to "create" ways to help our community and the world we all live in. I like to travel and to give back in so many ways.  Besides, I also get to meet a whole bunch of really great people in my community of Redmond, in Washington, and around the world.

Ps... Here I am in the Grand Canyon, Nov 1996, watching the sunrise at 5:30am .... it was so beautiful and cold!  I will never forget that trip or the colors of the Canyon.
