Redmond, the Bicycling Capital of the NW

Redmond is the Biking capital of the NW....did you know that?... well we are...and pretty proud of it too. Good things like Microsoft, Dick's Drive In Burgers, Coffee, Biking, Costco, Amazon, Boeing, Weyerhouser, etc....come from here in the NW. So do we, the Redmond Rousers Rotary Club...the BEST little club in the west. "We make a difference".

Summer in the PNW...Bicycle with us...Sept 24th

Summer is coming to the PNW....we are waiting patiently. During this time we are quietly planning our 1st ever 425 mile Bicycle race....on sept 24th & 25th... called "Coup de Cascades".  It was born from a need and a want. The need of an Ultra Marathon, type race in the PNW, and the want to help kids and people. Shannon & Kelly put their heads together and it was born in April 2011. This year ending POLIO is our focus and we will not stop till it happens.

The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has given Rotary International, our parent organization, a chance to step up and help with a huge challenge. It's a 200 million dollar challenge, called POLIO PLUS. They gave 200 million and said, please match it, and so we are. Right now Rotarians are only 27 million away from our goal of 200 million. YOU can help....You can make a donation and you can sign up to race or ride in 1 or 2 legs.... or race the whole distance of 425 miles. You can do both....all we ask is please do something to help. All the kids in the world are counting on us as adults to eradicate this horrible disease.

We are looking for a few more sponsors, to help put on this race. The Redmond Inn just joined us, and is a Bronze Sponsor. Sponsoring means you get to put your brand, or logo on the custom jerseys and more. It will go out to a lot of people as we tell the race story and advertize as it gets closer. NEW Ultra Marathon 425 mile BICYCLE RACE in the PNW

September 24th & 25th, 2011, will be the first Ultra Marathon type Cycling RACE/Ride in the Pacific N.W. There are other races like this, in Alaska, Calif, Colorado, but you have to travel a long way to get to them. SO, here's your chance to do one locally. Put a team together or you can find one online to join...or ride Solo. Is this something on your Bucket list, to do?... Each team or solo racer is required to have a SAG crew, to follow them at night time. Make sure you read the rules.
